The first week of Conflux spoilers are kicking off today at Magic: the Gathering.com. They couldn’t wait any longer to spoil this guy. Nicol Bolas is going to be a hot card for sure (click that link for the flavor backstory).
I wonder if Sarkhan Vol isn’t a little stronger in comparison. You can play him in half the time, Sarkhan’s second ability is stronger for sure and the third is game over for your opponent if they can’t block the fliers. Both Planeswalkers take the same amout of turns to get to ultimate. Bolas has the advantage of not dyeing the first time it can pay the ultimate cost. Also if both Planeswalkers hit the board at the same time, I’m assuming Bolas’s first ability can take out Sarkhan.
I’m just not sure Bolas’s casting cost is going to be worth it. Perhaps there is going to be some sort of herald for him.

So I made an elf yourself with 5 planeswalkers but I couldn’t save the the file or provide a link without paying money. So that was about 30 minutes well wasted.
I didn’t even get a screen shot.
Merry Christmas everyone. Here is my Chiristmas card for ’08.
Card name: Christmas Command
Mana cost: 2
Card text: Choose two. Put a +1/+1 counter on creatures your opponents control; or regenerate every creature in play; or each other player gains +10 life; or each other player draws a card.
Flavor text: Tis’ better to give than receive.
I didn’t have time to make an actual card so you can just imagine your own artwork. Or if someone wants to make this into a card with an editor send it over and I’ll post it.

Sharkhan Vol was finally spoiled today on MTG.com. This was the first day of spoilers via the articles and it is a good idea because I wasn’t sure how long they were able to keep a lid on this guy. And holy dragon dung batman four dragons that are 4/4. I was expecting the third ability to be more along the lines of search your library for a dragon and put it into play or something more like dragon storm.
I see this as being a serious, serious addition to all agro decks everywhere. The first ability alone is something to be reckoned with. This really makes Goblin Assult feel a little more intoxicating.
I also love this guy in current Red/Green Hybrid decks. There is easily room for him especially with cards like Tattermunge Maniac and the red and green wither guys and well any other attacking creature.
The first thought that crossed my mind when I looked at the second ability is, “I could steal Chameleon Colossus with this.”
The only major disadvantage I see with Sarkhan Vol is the fact that he is a Mythic Rare. He will be twice as hard to find and twice as expensive. This will probably be true with most all the new mytic rares. It kind of sucks in my opinion. Hopefully with the reduced cards in the over all set will make a booster box more fruitful.

People have gotten their hands of the Alara Planeswalker’s Guides this week. I haven’t had a chance to see one but I’ve looked a what is available and it seems to be more detailed info on what we already know.
Most exciting is the information on the new Planeswalkers. I really excited about Sarkhan Vol who will I am assuming summon dragons. I don’t know if this will be like dragon storm but I’m assuming he will have an ability that removes 6-8 loyalty counters and puts a dragon from deck or hand into play. Maybe just a 5/5 dragon token with flying.
Check out a good summery and preview of the Planeswalker’s Guide on MTG Realm (formerly Lorwyn Unleashed).
