Deck 1 - Trolls of Judgment

In keeping with my theme of getting back in motion with writing about magic I figured a deck focused on regeneration would be appropriate. This theme has been on my mind since we first saw Day of Judgment back in September.

In case you didn’t know, every toll card printed has regeneration. If you don’t believe me check trolls in the gatherer. This is good to know if you find yourself in a D&D campaign fighting a toll (psst – cut off it’s head). Anyway this list is extended because I needed enough trolls to fill out the creatures. It is a little on the high end regarding mana cost but I think it would be a fun mechanic to execute. And when you cast Day of Judgment you will only need to regenerate one or two of your guys to go the distance. So late game when you have the mana you’ll be in great shape.

4 Troll Ascetic
4 Kitchen Finks
4 River Boa
4 Hunted Troll
4 Noble Hierarch

Spells
4 Day of Judgement
4 Path to Exile or Oblivion Ring

Do you find that the Ajani Godmanes pull their weight? It seems like they would be better off replaced by something like Harmonize or even Noble Hierarch. As well, do you find Loxodon Warhammer to be better than Behemoth Sledge? It seems like the sledge would be better on some of your weaker guys (Finks, Boa) to ensure that they don’t die as often in combat. Just my 2 cents.

Behemoth Sledge is a good idea. I’m already running Noble Hierarch and I was thinking that Lanowar Elves or Birds might be necessary.
