Below is the year in review email I recieved from wordpress.com. Impressive since I haven’t been posting regularly since the middle of the year.

The stats helper monkeys at WordPress.com mulled over how this blog did in 2010, and here’s a high level summary of its overall blog health:

Healthy blog!

The Louvre Museum has 8.5 million visitors per year. This blog was viewed about 160,000 times in 2010. If it were an exhibit at The Louvre Museum, it would take 7 days for that many people to see it.

Happy 2010 folks!

Cheers to the New Year!
We’ve got a lot of great new magic content to look forward to in this new year. For those of you who have had a chance to read Aaron Forsythe‘s article on what is to come this year check it out. Much of what he reveals is common knowledge in the web community. I was specifically encouraged about his sense of accomplishment and looking forward to the new year. I think we, as players, can expect something for everyone as the health of the game is in a good place.

What I have in store in 2010
Over the past month I’ve been thinking a lot about keeping fresh content geared at the casual wizard. With so many sites dedicated to deck building and strategy for competitive magic, draft, standard, etc. I thought it would be great to focus on deck building and strategy for the casual player. A no brainier right, this is casual magic after all. I know I bounce around from competitive to casual realms easily. Anyway one of my resolutions is to make a deck for each week this year. That’s right 52 original deck lists for the casual player. I’ve got a few cooking now so check back tomorrow for the first deck of the year.

Naya meets Zendikar
Finally, I saw Avatar last night. What a beautiful film, go watch it in 3D you won’t regret it. For those of you who have seen the film, did anyone else think the movie was an interesting mix of Naya meets Zendikar meets Starcraft. Lets take a look.

Wild Nacatl
I can’t be the only one who kept thinking there is a resemblance to these creatures.

Wolly Thoctar
Pick your Naya fatty and insert here. Those 5/4 guys really kicked some ass against the little 1/1 solder tokens.

Meets Zendikar
Right. I loved the waterfalls on the floating islands.

And Starcraft

Happy New Year and have a great time shuffling up in 2010.
